Vitur

Privacy

Vitur is built for people who save and read articles, not for harvesting data. We do not use AI to read your queue, train models, or profile you. Your saved links, article text, highlights, and account details belong to you.

Updated .

The short version

  • Vitur stores the data needed to run your reading queue.
  • The product database and article storage are hosted in the EU.
  • We do not sell your data, run ads, or train AI models on your reading.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, export, or deletion.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, sign-in state, role, plan, and session records.

Reading data: saved URLs, article metadata, readable article text, read state, and highlights or notes you create.

Waitlist data: the name and email you submit, plus confirmation records so we know you asked to hear from us.

Technical data: request logs, IP address, browser details, rate-limit records, and security events. We use these to keep the service reliable and protect accounts.

Billing data: when paid plans are available, we store your plan and billing status. Payments are handled by a payment provider. We do not store card numbers.

Why we use it

We use your data to provide Vitur: saving URLs, fetching readable article versions, syncing your queue, showing highlights, sending sign-in links, managing waitlist requests, and handling paid plans when billing launches.

We also use a small amount of technical data for security, abuse prevention, service monitoring, and legal or accounting duties.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not build advertising profiles.
  • We do not use your saved articles, highlights, or notes to train AI models.
  • We do not read your browsing in the background.

Browser extension

The Vitur extension reads the active tab URL only after you click the extension. It sends that URL to Vitur so the page can be added to your queue.

The extension does not run background tracking, read every page you visit, or keep a separate auth token. It uses your existing Vitur browser session.

Hosting and providers

Vitur's product data is hosted in the EU. We may use specialist providers for email, infrastructure, security, and payments. They only receive the data they need to do that job.

If a provider needs to process personal data outside the EU, we use appropriate safeguards and keep that transfer as narrow as we can.

How long we keep it

We keep account and reading data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data from the live service, except where we need to keep limited records for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

Backups age out on their normal schedule. Waitlist records stay until we invite you, you ask us to remove them, or we no longer need the list.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete your personal data. Some rights depend on the reason we use the data, and some records must be kept for legal or accounting reasons.

We will answer privacy requests within one month when we can verify that the request comes from you. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
